This is the first phase of the redesign of EDSH. It will come in pieces so please be patient lol. Iam trying to include as much help information as I can. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a question or comment you can not find the answer for on the site.

I have uploaded the first 2 starter homes in my starter home series. Both homes include some walls and floors I made. Iam in the process of redesigning the whole site so look for some changes in the next few weeks. I hope to upload 3 more houses over the weekend. You can find the new homes by going here or clicking on Starter Homes in the navigation links at the top of the page.

Enjoy and let me know if there are any problems or questions!

Hello! I just wanted to post a small note to introduce myself. Iam going to be working on Everyday Sim Homes and Iam really excited about some of the things I have planned to share. Right now I have 3 homes in testing and a nice update of walls/floors and paintings. Soon as Iam sure (hopefully tommorrow) everything is working as intended I post everything for you to see!

Home Instructions

Its very easy to buy and install a new home for your Sims. Just follow theses easy instructions. Once you have chosen a home download it to a place of your choice on your computer. I download from sites into folders named after the sites so I can remember where I got things. For example:

If I were to download a home from my site I could download it to c:\windows\desktop\simsstuff\downloads\everdaysimhomes

Next load up the unzipping program of your choice and unzip everything into the same folder you downloaded it to. This will allow you to see the zips contents before moving things around and allow you to check to be sure there are no problems. You should load any walls, floors or objects into your game before importing your new home.

All floors go in C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Game Data\Floors (May not use folders)

All walls go in C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Game Data\Walls (May not use folders)

Any objects go in: C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Game Data\downloads (You may place objects in subfolders by site or type but no more then 1 subfolder deep)

Your last step is to move your new home file so that is can be imported into your game.

All house files go in C:/ProgramFiles/Maxis/TheSims/UserData/Import

The last step I promise!

Start The Sims. If you're playing with Livin' Large, the Expansion Pack, choose the neighborhood where you would like to place that home.

Click on the Import button to add the home to your neighborhood.

Your home should be all set for your Sims now. Enjoy!
